Southern Utah musical sensation Josh & Drew is a new group featuring the distinctive vocal and guitar stylings of Josh Warburton along with the soaring vocal talents of Drew Davis is a breath of fresh air and are not what you’d expect from a local duo. Their music is as good as anything nationally recognized, all done on a small budget, but with a blank check of passion. They describe themselves as performing beautiful music that many people enjoy and can relate to.
Individually each has made their own niches in the local music scene prior to their meeting. Josh having released a self-produced CD with the band Wishlist in 2000 as well as numerous notable performances including opening for John Lee Hooker Jr. at the Electric Theater. He recently became a BMI registered songwriter and has had a number of local artists interested in recording his songs. Drew made recognition as a talented singer back in 2003 when he had a song “Stars In Her Eyes’ in rotation on KONY country radio. Drew spent about 2 years in Nashville Tennessee where he continued to perfect his voice and talents with world renown vocal coach Brett Manning, who’s taught notable singers such as Keith Urban, and Marty Row from Diamond Rio amongst many others. Drew has sung at the Hard Rock Cafe Downtown Nashville, and loves singer and performing.
As a duo, Josh & Drew have gained fast recognition after their break-out performances for 1500+ crowds at both their debut opening for SHeDAISY and the Little River Band. Not knowing what kind of demand to expect, they sold all of the CDs they had on hand at the LRB show. You can get your copy by contacting them through their myspace. Their myspace site has garnered over 3500 plays in three short weeks and now features live video of “American Pie” and the live audio track “Home” a Daughtry song recorded at their performance on August 10th with “LRB”.
You can also listen to the original songs contained on the CD on their site, songs that have already been played on the radio here in Southern Utah on 101.9 KTIM FM. Josh and Drew are determined to share their love for music with all who will listen. “If you have an open heart you’ll like this music” says Drew. Josh adds “Passion never dies! It’s an unlimited commodity, so we’re not going away!! We’ll share it with all who want it.”
Josh and Drew have recently been endorsed by Seagull Guitars, an accolade even the best musicians recognize as a huge accomplishment. “I’ve played Seagull guitars since I fell in love with my main axe lent to me for the Art’s Festival many years ago! I also recently bought a 20 year old 12 string Seagull, they’re fantastic performance instruments” Said Josh. Added Drew, “We love seagull guitars!!, says It was my first and will probably be my last guitar brand!”
Josh & Drew love performing together and are currently working on forming a full band and on a new CD which will be available soon.
